“I learned so much about the culture, and was taken in by the community as if I was one of their own - cooking with them, exploring with them and learning their language. The hospitality of the people here in Manikhel never ceased to amaze me.” /Nepal

“This Homestay of Kudawewa was so amazing for our family. Especially it was our highlight that my kids aged 7 and 6 could play and teach to host family and neighbors by Japanese traditional toys!! They really loved it. And we enjoyed trekking to Ella Falls and swimming there. We could see wild monkeys there too.” /Sri Lanka

“For us Bali means Sebatu. Our stay in Sebatu was just amazing and it made definitely our trip. If you want to run away from tourist and live the proper local life , Sebatu is the place you are looking for. As soon as we arrived to the Homestay we felt like home and part of the family and we even took part to a wedding. /Indonesia

“The last days we stayed at our host family with mama Aisha. Even tough we had hard times understanding each other, she (and the entire village) made us feel really welcome! Life can be tough and it is amazing to see how people manage to keep their heads up. Thanks #Kizimkazi for making us feel so welcome.” /Tanzania

"We happened to run into one of Haruni's (our hosts') good friends, who was soooo excited to meet us! He gave us a live chicken, which we ate for supper that night! It was a display of pure kindness and joy, which made us feel very, very welcome. We were able to take in some nightlife at the local bar, which ended up with us being fed some more delicious meat. The communication with Haruni before and during our stay was excellent. This was truly a fantastic and positive experience and we strongly encourage everyone to stop in at Lembeni if you have the opportunity!"

"In addition of meeting so nice and caring people (especially for our 1 year old daughter), we also met ourselves. Being in this so quiet and relax environment was for us a way to slow down and disconnect from the outside world. Being in this family who lives very simply but seems to be happy with one another helped us reconsider the way we live and consume, and how we interact with other people in our daily life. So, thanks to this family and to the people we met in the village for letting us see their life which in so many ways is very inspiring for us."

"At first, the encounter seemed awkward and I really was not sure what to expect. But by dinner time, we already felt comfortable and got along really well! For the next few days we worked on a rice field, went fishing, drove around with motorcycles, attended a local wedding, drank snake wine, sang karaoke, fed the animals, made amazing food and took care of the farm. We had the most amazing time, and five days went by way faster than I expected. I recommend this experience for everyone who wants to make the most out of traveling, and not only do the touristy stuff abroad."
